Salon Spotlight: Mark Garrison

As passionate and driven ever, Mark Garrison is known to have some of New York City’s most celebrated hair stylists, known for their fashion forward, but classic styles.

Mark Garrison celebrates his salon’s 20th year in 2016. The 5 floor townhouse is home to a hand-picked staff of stylists and colorists with a friendly disposition.  One can feel this positive attitude throughout the salon, starting at the Front Desk where clients are greeted by name and made to feel welcome.

Andrew De Mio, Vive stylist at Mark Garrison, has seen over 43 clients since January.  He says, “Overall, they’re wonderful people – they’re easy to get along with, and generous women!  I’m happy they frequent our salon and I’ve been able to connect with them no matter what time they come to see us, whether it’s at 7:00 am or 6:00 pm.  My blow drying skills have improved a lot because of these Vive clients.”  Andrew also shared with us the scoop on the hottest blowout trends for Spring. “The two trends we’ve been seeing for 2016 are Tousled Beach waves, which also resemble bedhead and straight with bend on the end.”

Beachy hair has been making waves lately from celebrities in Hollywood like Kate Hudson to our CEO Alanna Gregory. She often requests this style and it has become a go-to for her recently.  It’s a style that looks good on most textures and is easy to maintain for up to three days with the use of a good dry shampoo like Kérastase’s Powder Bluff.

While located on 60th Street, in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the Mark Garrison Salon doesn’t fit the description of that classic, moneyed neighborhood.  The salon’s clients fly in from all over for hair services and manicures here.

The salon holds daily and weekly training classes to ensure Stylists stay on top of the latest trends.  Their skills are honed to achieve the highest degree of performance.  Mark believes that as in major-league sports and top level performing arts, a great team rehearses continuously and daily to stay at the top of their game.

Clients can purchase Kérastase and Shu Uemura hair products, as well as Mark’s selection of brushes and blow dryers at the salon’s storefront boutique.  Lilibeth of New York, famous for their fabulous eyebrow, eyelash extensions and makeup services can now be found at Mark Garrison on Tuesdays Thursdays and Fridays.
