In honor of our upcoming collaboration, I had the opportunity to speak with Simone about her motivation to keep fit, personal beauty regime and guilty pleasures.

Summer: You have an amazing workout program. What inspired you to start your company?

Thank you. I was working with an actress who needed to look like a dancer for a role in a film. We trained 6 days a week for 3 months, and I was so amazed by how her body transformed.  The idea that dancing alone could change your body inspired me to create a studio, Body By Simone.  I wanted to be able to share this knowledge with as many people as possible.

What is the most important lesson you’ve learnt since you started Body By Simone?

The power of exercise. There is no greater feeling than being physically strong and healthy.  It helps you love the way your body looks and feels.


Your classes incorporate many different types of exercise. What's your personal favorite?

My favorite has got to be our signature class at Body By Simone, the dance cardio class. After an hour of high impact jumping and dancing you cannot help but be on a natural high with all the good endorphins.

What keeps you motivated to work out?

My clients are the ones that motivate me. I workout alongside them to keep them focused and inspired, but it also motivates me to be my best for them and for me.

How do you stay fresh in between workouts?

I make sure I have a quick snack, lots of water and step outside for some fresh air. And I always have a spare set of workout clothes just in case I need to change.

What is your daily beauty regime?

Plenty of sleep, plenty of water, plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, and a great moisturizer and eye cream.

What is the number one beauty product you can’t live without?

I absolutely love the lavender oil face cream that my mum sends me all the way from my hometown in Australia.

How would you describe your personal style?

If Helmut Lang and rag & bone had a baby with AllSaints, that would be me at the other end.

Your program also emphasizes nutrition. What’s your favorite pre and post workout snack?

Yes, it is very important part of living a healthy lifestyle. I have a dedicated section on healthy eating with recipes in my book, Body By Simone: The 8-Week Body Makeover Plan. I always eat a protein and carbohydrate pre-workout and a protein post workout. Favorites are eggs with turkey sausage and an apple with almond butter.

Do you ever have a cheat day? What are you most likely to indulge on?

Yes, Sunday is always my cheat day! You can usually find me at SoHo House's Sunday feast. I allow myself anything I want, but a Nutella crepe is my favorite indulgence.
